CTO Mission Statement

Cross Trail Outfitters is a relationship-based Great Commission ministry. We make disciples of young men – and through them their friends, families and communities – by building lifelong, one-on-one friendships with them through a common interest in hunting and fishing.

Through these friendships, we work to elevate their Skills, Leadership, and Relationship with Jesus. We seek to lead them toward the attainment of a Biblical vision of Christian manhood, and equip them to passionately pursue a lifetime of service to Jesus Christ and fellowship with Him in the outdoors.

We will take this ministry across America and around the world by recruiting, training, equipping and leading men and women, on a local basis, to serve the Lord in this way.

We will succeed in this by committing our work to the Lord and doing everything according to His divine principles, with faith, love, passion and excellence.

CTO Statement of Beliefs

Cross Trail Outfitters is founded upon these core truths:

   - The Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God.

   - "…All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23

   - "…The wages of sin is death." - Romans 6:23

   - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

   - "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

   - "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

   - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8

   - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." - Proverbs 3:5-6

We will stand solidly and uncompromisingly on the absolutes of the Bible, while allowing freedom in faithful and wise interpretations and deductions, and in forms of worship. For the glory of God and the work of his kingdom, we will avoid fostering denominational divisions, and instead seek a spirit of unity and cooperation in the true body of Christ.

CTO Code of Ethics

As ambassadors of Christ and representatives of our hunting and fishing heritage, all members of the Cross Trail Outfitters solemnly pledge that we will always endeavor:

   - To honor God in all we do,

   - To speak truth, pay what we owe, and treat others with courtesy and respect,

   - To obey all game laws and regulations, and the rules of those in authority,

   - To make good use of the game we harvest,

   - To leave land, equipment and other resources better than they were when they were entrusted to us,

   - To be good stewards of the Lord's creation, treating the animals and land with the utmost care and respect, with a mind toward preserving and improving these resources for future generations,

   - To respect our bodies as a temple of the Lord, never coming under the influence of alcohol in the field, and never using illegal drugs,

   - To strictly seek the highest levels of safety, especially when handling firearms,

   - To keep our equipment clean and in top working order, and be proficient in its use,

   - To be an example of righteousness, never engaging in immoral behavior or speaking in an unwholesome way,

   - To take the time to pass on to others our beliefs and ethics, and the lessons we have learned in the outdoors.

CTO Sportsman’s Pledge

As a member of Cross Trail Outfitters and a child of God, I solemnly pledge:

To uphold the law and Cross Trail Outfitters Code of Ethics,

To take good care of my equipment and be skillful in its use,

To revere the life and habitat of the animals I pursue,

To treat other people and their property with kindness and respect,

To seek a closer relationship with God, His Son, His Word and His Creation,

To honor God with my thoughts, words and actions, daily becoming more of the person He wants me to be,

And to enthusiastically share my outdoors heritage and Christian faith with the people I meet.

So help me God.
