CTO First Hunts are the perfect environment for a young hunter to bag his or her first big game animal. Over the years, we've taken hundreds of young people on their First Hunt, and it's always a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.
We've learned a heck of a lot about how to properly teach safety, shot placement, marksmanship and game cleaning/processing. This unique and fun setting is the perfect foundational outing for a budding sportsman, and ensures that he learns the proper habits and has a positive experience. He'll also be able to take home a nice trophy as a lifelong reminder of the great memories and important lessons!
This is also the perfect place for a beginning bowhunter to bag his first big game animal with archery equipment. Our staff are all very experienced in all kinds of tools and tactics, and the animals we're hunting provide just the right level of challenge to make the hunt fun and rewarding.
All participants also have the opportunity to learn valuable life lessons while growing in maturity, responsibility and faith.
CTO First Hunts are weekend outings, open to boys and girls as young as six years old. Our average group size is 5-6 hunters, ensuring plenty of one-on-one training and focused, personal attention. A parent or guardian is welcome to attend but that is not a requirement.
We provide all lodging, meals, transportation, any necessary loaner gear, field processing of the game (with the youth's hands-on help!), and preparation of the trophy for the taxidermist.
As with everything we do, CTO has never turned a youth away from an outing just because his family couldn't afford it. If you have a child or grandchild who wants to participate but money is an issue, please don't hesitate to contact us.
